Cultivating the power of people.
With a strong foundation built upon ensuring the safety of our employees as our priority objective, we pride ourselves in providing an inclusive culture that empowers our employees with a foundation of relationships, service, and purpose.
Our goal is to hire, develop, retain and engage a workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We believe that diversity—of gender, background, age, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, perspectives, abilities and more—is critical to our success.
First and foremost, we are dedicated to the safety of our people. As part of our EverSafe platform we established Target Zero, a pledge to achieve no harm to people or the environment as the result of our operations. Through our Safety Assurance in Food and Environments (SAFE) principles, we make safety a priority in everything we do. We employ sound policies, rigorous training and processes, and high, consistent standards to meet our safety commitment every day and every time.
We are actively encouraging greater diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of our business. Through training designed to improve company culture, and hiring and purchasing policies which reflect the multiplicity of backgrounds in our population, we are proud of the example we are setting towards the emergence of a society devoid of discrimination.
The success of our company is built upon the strength of our teams. We provide a variety of tools and services to help every team member feel well supported and connected. Our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) have created networks for employees across Canada and the US who share common interests, backgrounds or demographic factors and strengthen our culture of inclusion. We also foster the mental and physical wellbeing of our employees through multiple programs, such as our Take 15 campaign that encourages employees to schedule time away from computer screens and smartphones to focus on mindfulness, social interaction and recover from work stress.
We are dedicated to establishing and maintaining excellent relations with the peoples of Canada who identify with an Indigenous heritage.
We have been recognized by Indigenous-based organizations for some of our work in their communities, including Gold Level for Progressive Aboriginal Relations by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. We are also proud of our longstanding partnership with CreeQuest to provide employment opportunities and build infrastructure with clients in our Remote Services business.
