Aramark Canada Presents Annual Chefs' Cup Competition and Culinary Tradeshow at Centennial College

Toronto, ON – April 21, 2023 – Aramark Canada proudly announces its 4th annual Aramark Canada Chefs' Cup competition, scheduled for May 31st at Centennial College. This eagerly awaited event assembles Aramark's leading culinary talents from across the nation, providing them a platform to demonstrate their exceptional skills and creativity.

The competition will feature eight Chef competitors and their Sous Chef assistants, who will be given three hours to craft an appetizer, entrée, and dessert using key ingredients from a mystery black box, unveiled only on the competition day. A distinguished panel of top Chefs consisting of Aramark partners and Executive Chef of Centennial College’s School of Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts will evaluate the participants’ dishes and kitchen technical scores . The gold medal-winning culinary team will go on to represent Canada at Aramark's International Chefs' Cup competition in Toronto, in April 2024.

The participating competitors include Alejandro Velasquez, Concordia University; Aurelien Legue, Carleton University; Adrian Salalac, Aramark Culinary Innovation Centre; Sheena Nixon, Bethany Healthcare; Richard Perks, Country Day School; Bryan Davidson, Dalhousie University; Brett Howson, Bishop Strachan School; Eric Jacobs, Rogers Communications (Mount Pleasant Rd.).

This year’s competition is complimented with an interactive tradeshow for Aramark clients to experience innovative food and technological solutions while the behind-the-scenes aspect of the competition takes place. This is followed by an evening reception featuring delectable cuisine paired with the Awards Ceremony that recognizes the Chefs' Cup winners.
