EMPOWER ERG Session: How Indigenous Women Overcome Obstacles and Adversity
With Tina Sheridan
April 26, 2022 - Tina Sheridan, Founder and President/Director of Aramark Canada partner CreeQuest Corporation, recently delivered a compelling address to nearly 1,000 Aramark employees across the globe about “How Indigenous Women Overcome Obstacles and Adversity.”
Sheridan, who is a Taykwa Tagamou Nation member, spoke about how she tapped into her strength and determination to combat systemic oppression and, ultimately, meet with success after having founded CreeQuest Corporation in 2010.
Sheridan said CreeQuest has since contributed to funding Indigenous communities through programs that foster economic reconciliation, which she has described as “a corporate recognition that Indigenous communities—to be healthy—must have economic opportunities.”
Through its longstanding partnership with Aramark Canada, CreeQuest remains one of its contractors with the largest percentage of Indigenous employees.
